BIOS HD Unrecognized

BIOS does not recognize that hard drive Western Digital 1TB is attached. Data and Power cables ok. Hard drive working and heats up. Am trying to load Win 8 onto the Formatted Hard Drive. Have successfully loaded on this computer before using same cables but different HD. Gigabyte MB with SATA connections. Does this HD required Drivers and if so, where can I get them. Any help would be appreciated.

No drivers, but check to see in the boot device selection that you have chosen the correct HD -- some of the newer motherboards (like the past 4-5 years) have multiple choices for some drives and often have UEFI in one of the drive titles.
