hey guys..i currently have HD 7870 XT 2GB DDR5 , i5-3470@60Ghz..i get 33 FPS minimum and around 45 FPS Average when gaming watch dogs on Tweaked ultra.. LOD: Ultra , Reflection : ultra
shadows :High , shader: High , AA: FXAA, and texture on high .. @ 1920x1080p.

i wonder what will happen if i put texture on Ultra?..and do you think a 2GB Vram will be enough for the upcoming games ?

Solution
Some people say they experience "Input lag" so they dont use AA whatsoever, Others say that 1080p is high enough resolution where the edges of the image are fine enough to deal with.

Either scenario, its on personal preference. Personally it depends on the game, If I am playing a solid RPG, I want the best graphics I can get, So I enable AA. As for FPS's, I tend to lower/turn off AA.

Technology is a fast moving monster... I went ahead and bought my r9 290 in hopes I can use it for another 3-4 years to come on med-high at the end of its life.

2gb is getting obsolete for maxing out games in the upcoming year, 3gigs is the bar min if your wanting to max out games(Textures, AA etc).

As for watch dogs, I believe it says in the options menu in the textures that ultra takes 3gigs of vram. What will happen if you do? Major FPS loss.

thanks for your respond .. i think i don't need to "completely" max out all upcoming games 2015-2016 ..i meant on Tweaked ultra .. also upcoming games like Dying Light , The Witcher 3 , and AC Unity won't use 3GB Textures, i think you can play them with texture on ultra , AA: off, and sometimes 2xx.

i though it will be dangerous on a 2GB gpu making texture on ultra when the game requires 3GB.

Nah, you'll basically just strangle it. It'll give its all.. major FPS loss about it, and for upcoming games, playing on ultra with AA off and turning down shadows to maybe medium will give you a ton more performance.

Bethesda released the optimal requirements for there new game "The Evil Within" Which I quote:
Recommended PC System Specifications

64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
i7 with four plus cores
4 GBs RAM
50 GB of hard drive space*
GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4GBs of VRAM
High Speed Internet Connection
Steam account and activation

The only difference in the min specs is the GPU which is much lower and only need 1gb vram. BUT. Just showing that games are going in this direction, requiring alot more vram and power to have the "optimal" playable experience.

yes, i see .. also a game like "middle earth shadow of mordor" requires 6GB Vram if you want to make textures on ultra !! .. its a shame that even a high-end gpu like gtx 770 2GB probably will not be able to max out upcoming games, otherwise i think these games demanding more than 2GB Vram will be a few..

will AA make a difference at a 1080p res.? some people say it makes a difference at any res. and others say no..and i personally don't notice a difference between 2x and 4x ..i hopefully want to make everything on ultra with AA off in 2015 games.
