EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 Superclock vs FTW Edition

EVGA offers a whole range of different GTX 970 cards with their ACX 2.0 cooler, but is the premium on the higher end cards (FTW and SSC) worth it? It seems like they all have the same hardware, and if the only difference is the clock speed, can't you save $30 and just overclock it yourself to the same speeds?

Yes you can ususally overclock it up to the same speeds but the high chips might be binned so they can overclock higher than their standard chips. In any case EVGA are copping a bit of flack over the lack of quality in their new 900 series cards, i'd look at other brands if you want a 900 series.
