Hi, I built my first pc 3 weeks ago, and want to upgrade my graphics card from a 7770 to a gtx 980 before GTA V come out for pc (January 27th). I will also upgrade my monitor to 144hz, so I need to know if games will take advantage of it.

Just to repeat this again, noone knows, as GTA 5, as you said is out in january... i HIGHLY imagine you wont be able to run it 100+fps as i personally think rockstar will boss it and will be the hardest game to run...

Wait till its out you will probably get playable FPS to start with on your rig when it comes out for all we know you could run ultra on an i3 and a 450 probably not though. All we know is its coming out in January and has AMD mantle so you it may go amd optimized. What CPU do you have etc?

We don't know it has mantle support as there is no source except that videocardz wrote an article on it (which itself was sourceless)

Id highly imagine, with that gpu, low at best... if you want it to be playable, with no mods... can i just ask, why such a nice cpu, and a limited gpu? why not even them out?

Oh right. But the next gen systems are next gen and if we get lumbered with a port again I will most likely be optimizied for AMD cards, Right?

You are going to play it on best settings on FullHD with one GTX 980 definitely, its a new age graphics card for god's sake!
I dont know why people think that its not going to be possible. But i dont quit know if you are going to get 100+ fps

Well the people behind gta v's pc port are also the people behind Max Payne 3's port. And that was a really good port. and also, they managed to fix everything that made gta iv run like shit on pc (since it came out when it was a brand new engine) and now that the engine is more mature, in a sense, i can confidently say that my gtx 980 will be able to push 100fps out of this game on ultra. Now, that may not be on average. On average i'd say a good 90fps sounds about right, assuming this game isnt very cpu dependant, rather than gpu dependant.

My setup is i5 4590 gtx 750 1gb (temp option), 8gb ram, 500+watts. For 1080p, can i get 100+fps with gtx 980 and or 980ti? Following games,bf3-hardline,cod ghost, codaw and bo3, metro last light and latest FF titles.
