Hi,

I just bought a Seagate Backup Plus 4TB (STDT4000600) from Costco. Plugged in my Macbook Pro (Maverick) and the drive is recognized as 2TB. diskutil is showing it as 2TB. I am using GPT as the parition type. The drive model: SRD00F2.

Can I fix this or this is a non-supported config for this drive?

Thanks

Have you looked at Seagate's site for a solution?

Was the drive performatted for a Mac or did you format it yourself?

Hi Kenrivers,

I browed through Seagate's site, no solution. The drive is performatted for Windows, but it saids it's Mac compatible. I then format the drive myself using "diskutil" on Mac. Diskutil recognize the drive as a 2TB drive. I might just return it and get a WD preformatted for Mac.

Thanks,

It is easy that you install a temporary Windows server 2012 OS , and covert to Dynamic Disk , Format it Done.
You can use it in any OS machine.
