I have now amassed over a terabyte in data on my hard drives, and am realizing that my habit of installing to default locations is making my life insanely hard. Is there a way to move my programs without breaking the paths in the computer?

Short answer: Sorry, but no.

Long answer: You could maybe flail about for several weeks trying to actually make everything work in a new location. Find ALL the reg entries and change them, ALL the user files, etc, etc. And have it never be quite right.

Or you could just reinstall, and be done by this time tomorrow.

No, a reinstall is the only way - you can't drag and drop like you can with regular files (pictures, videos, etc.)

No.

You can clone your drive to a bigger drive, but you can not move most programs.

The problem is that the program does not only consist of the folder in program files. It also has regestry keys, and other files/folders spread through your user account folders.

Depending on the application it may be failry simple to backup your profile or its database or ascii/xml files and then uninstall the program, install it on the new drive and then restore the profile/database with all of your settings.
