Possibility of combining two different models of a GTX 780 TI?

Hey. I'm currently running an Asus GTX 780 ti which works phenomenally. I don't plan on getting an upgrade in the imminent future but I was planning on moving on to an SLI solution once I feel an upgrade is justified. Now, I got the original model when the card was relatively new but it doesn't seem that it is stocked nowadays.

My question is whether I would see any problems by creating an SLI solution with, say, an Asus GTX 780 ti Matrix Platinum? From what I've heard this shouldn't be problematic. It's slightly faster at 1006 MHz (compared to my 876 MHz) but I would think that I could just overclock the weaker card to get them running similarly to eachother.

Is there anything to consider and will I have any problems since they are different models of the same card? Thanks in advance for your advice.

It should work even if it is a different model. The faster card will downclock to the speed of your other card.

They are hard to find because they went EOL when the 970 and 980 were released.
