Hello!
My pc building adventure never ends, and i have had a bunch of problems to deal with, mainly caused by my own stupidity. While building, i had to yank the motherboard out a few times, once was to put in that atx plate or whatever that thing is, and the other times i don't even know why. It ended up getting caught in the case, and by the time i got the thing out it had a nice bend towards the bottom (slight, but noticeable).
Upon completion of the build, it worked for a week, then would fail the post due to bad ram, and i had to replace it (the type i had wasn't specified in the mobo manual). Got the ram i needed, and it worked for some time, until again it would fail to post, this time with a new beep code (1 long, 3 short). I did a psu rma, re-installed it, and still had the problem. I finally fixed it today, by having only the vga cable connected to the video card, switch a bios setting (primary graphics from pcie device) and re-seat the card to a new pcie slot.
Now, my pc starts up for a second, then turns off, then goes back on and starts up, and passes post. My side panel case fan is also not working as well (tried a molex to psu connection, did not work).
Setup:
-Intel i7 4790k (stock cooler)
-mobo: asus z97 a (bios version 1008 i think, not the newest version)
-geforce gtx 760
-corsair 750 watts
-corsair 16 gb (2x8) 1833
-240gb ssd, 1 terabyte harddrive
So is my motherboard bad, or what is the issue here?
-Eddie

ok what happened when you set bios to default settings? does it still do on for 1s shut down then starts again and progress to post and os? if same take out battery wait 1min then put back in while psu is off. you can update bios to see if it helps. it happens to me aswell when pc dont like my overclock. it does the second boot to revert it back to normal so pc does it itself to not progress through something it doesnt like.

reset bios, and just reset graphics to pcie. No issues on startup, booted and passed post without issue. Where do i go from here? Unless someone can address possible damage to my motherboard and tell me a diagnosis (i know you guys cant actually examine it) I'm still inclined to think there is a problem with it. What about my case fan? One of them isn't working. I can try putting the back one on cpu_opt to suck out more hot air, but I'm not sure if I should.
