well i am posting this again since its 2014 and some other post are old and there is new products out there so i am in need of a closed loop liquid cooling unit so i can keep over clocking and keep things cool i dont mind my case is Corsair air 540 i have my Fx8350 overclocked to 4.6ghz at the moment and i want to go maybe 4.7 to 4.9 i currently have a 212 evo and the temps are ok and stable at 60c thanks

I OC'd my 8350 to 5.1 ghz. But once I surpassed 4.6 ghz, my room turned into a furnace. This baby will get exponentially hotter. The best closed loop available is the Swiftech H220-X. You can expand on it later too, which is pretty cool. Make sure your room is well ventilated.

The cooling market/products hasn't changed much in the last year. Water coolers are still the best cooling solution. Everyone sais Corsair H100i, but there are other brands out there. I like the Corsair and built a couple PC's with them because it has a lot of features and good cooling fans on the H100i.

It's still stable as of now.

well i guess i can go with Swiftech H220-X since it was one of my choices and others highly recommend it and that is amazing that it can reach 5.2 on air cooling ...but if with the Swiftech H220-X i can reach 5.0 stable temps ill be happy during the summer my room is airconditioned wile i am in it and winter the cold does it for me here in new york

I think last year, I had OC'd it to 4.7 ghz to run at around 65°C full load on a Corsair H80. Add about 2 to 3 degrees for every .1 ghz overclock after that. Given that I live in Dallas, Texas during summer, you bet my room was hot as Hades.

According to the laws of thermodynamics, a more effective liquid cooling unit like the H220-X will not only keep your CPU cooler, but the radiator will also have a higher heat output. The fact you live up in New York makes the concern near null.

All in all, good luck and have fun, bud.
