I prefer to get the exact match - but as long as they have the same settings you should be good to go. You want to make sure they have the exact settings for optimal performance. If the ADATA exact match is close to the same price (i.e. the Adata is $40 and you find another brand for $35), I would buy the Adata brand. If you can't find Adata, or there is a huge price difference, either buy two sticks of the new RAM or mix them.

The brand doesn't really matter.
What you want to match is the speed and timing, for example DDR2-800 5-5-5-18.
Alternatively, you could buy a 2 x 2GB kit and replace your RAM rather than trying to match the existing RAM.

Same as above. Keep to the same speed, timings and voltages. Mixing differing brands is not a sure thing and may cause problems albeit keeping to the same memory specifications will minimize the chance of that happening.
