CPU: FX-8350
16gb ddr3
750w psupp
asus evo mobo

I used to have a radeon 7770 that ran CS;GO on max settings at about 150-200 fps, i am getting pretty much the same performance with my brand new R9 280x, where can the problem be ?

Solution
Yep that's fine try overclocking but at 200 fps your not getting a better reaction time at more fps your just getting more copies of frames.

i dont really need more framerate, just wondering why i am getting the same performance out of a 300$+card comapred to a 100- one.
I was pretty sure it was my cpu, just trying to figure it out now.
should i go with a FX-9590 and retain the mobo or go straigth with intel and change it all ?

Tried lowering res, not getting any change, lowered settings to min, not a great boost there either, might jsut be the CPU then, just wondering if and overclock would do or if i should get a new one.

Yes definitely sounds like CPU. Overclocking might not alleviate all the bottleneck but I think it would help.

The difference is not felt in games such as GO, they are felt in games like crysis .

Just ran unigine on high and got 70 fps on the benchmark result, i dont know how that ranks and what i should be getting but i guess this is about fine? Will be looking into the overclock of the CPU since i already am running a liquid cooling on stock settings.

Thanks
