I have 3 slots on my motherboard. Currently running 3x2gb. (Really wish I had gone for 3x4gb back in the day when I first built this. I'm at freaking 5.8gb memory usage playing PlanetSide 2.) My question is does the i7920 require a triple channel setup? From my understanding all the latest Intel processors call for dual channel. Obviously I will be upgrading to a new CPU, but probably in a few years at the latest. I would like to hang on to my baby for a little while longer. If I upgrade to say, 2x6gb, would that degrade the performance of my i7920 in any way, and would it be compatible with a newer intel processor, for that time when I upgrade?
