Hi all,

First i apologize if this section wasn't meant for sort of an ad, but I couldn't see any other suitable forum category to share this.

I play Age of Empires II; The Conquerors (AoC) and nothing else and i love it, but I found many people don't know if the online community exist after Microsoft shutdown CD Games section and AoC support.

Well for people who don't know, AoC got much more developed unofficially after Microsoft shutdown. I play at www.voobly.com and for many of us there have been numerous money tournaments till this date but nothing as big as what they are going for this winter.

Winter is Coming and with it War is Coming :)

you can find the tournament details here: http://www.aoczone.net/viewtopic.php?f=957&t=99425

Also voobly has added many new features to the same game even though the game is exactly the same gameplay-wise.

Also there have an official AoHD version released through steam, though i don't play it and don't think i will but its community is also growing. And also there is a user made expansion of it which was launched in voobly with some new civilizations called "Forgotten Empires" which now has been meshed with AoHD Steam.

But I don't play any of these except AoC original on voobly.com. If you guys want to check out the community feel free. There is "New Player's Lobby" for new comers so they don't have to play vs hard expert opponents. You can post here if you want my username and I will be glad to help you out with anything. But there are moderators and game helpers there, who help new comers.

Good luck. Hope someone will find this very useful.

P.S; voobly's stream link: www.twitch.tv/vooblyofficial ( they stream many tournaments on it so you can check time to time today's experts of the communities). Voobly experts are the top experts on all these versions of Age of Empires some are the initial winners when they held first few tournaments on world gaming series.as the game came out back in 1999.

I would have loved this in my college days. I always played AoE2 with random people around the dorm. Thanks for sharing!
