i'm currently on a single asus hd 7770 oc with 3, 1366 X 768 monitors and i need to upgrade as i'm currently getting below 30fps on most games. what would be the better option for my setup. Another hd 7770 or a single r9 270x dualx oc?

(mostly for racing games)
Thanks you!

my current rig
i5-3470
Corsair 8gb
G1.Sniper 3 motherboard
FSP Hexa+ 550W power supply
4x cooler master 120mm fans
3x compaq s1922 monitors

Solution
sell the 7770 and get a r9 280. they have gone down in price a lot. 1 card is a lot better than 2 weak cards. 2 cards will be less stable, use more power and just be more of a hassle to get all the crossx drivers and such.

Well.... For me, the GTX 970 has rendered every other card useless because the crazy performance/prize ratio. :D But i would go with the 270x in your situation.. But here the GTX 970 is only 100 dollars more than the mid-range cards that produce alot less power, in comparison. If you can get it for cheap you should go with it.

thank you for your advice. the thing is thought here its almost 400 dollars more than a r9 270x. i can go for r9 270x or even for a r9 280 within my budget. but my problem is, what would be a better solution for triple monitors. some says crossfire cards perform better in eyefinity mode than a single gpu

400 bucks?! Wow.. the difference here is about 100 dollars from the most expensive 280x to the cheapest GTX 970. The cheapest r9 290 is actually a full 100 bucks more than the most expensive GTX 970 here too. Crazy! the GTX 970 here isnt even hitting the 450 dollar mark.

But its a very close call. Off the bat i would say go with the 270x , but i can't say for sure because i have no actual comparison. But here is another topic on the subject that i just found, so here you go > http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2013940/270x-7770-fire.html

thank you again mister.
For a single monitor it will be a great option as those benchmarks shows. but will it be the same for my multi-monitor setup than a crossfired gpu? actually that is my main concern.
