So me and my friend tried to build a computer, what I'm afraid of is that perhaps something is missing or some parts don't work together, we're really new to this so I ask if someone could point out our mistake?

Mother Board: MSI B75MA-P45
Memory: DDR3 Crucial Ballistix 8GB 1600MHz Cl9 1.5
Storage: SSD Crucial MX100 256GB SATA3
Seagate SV35 3.5'' 2TB SATA3
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970, 4GB GDDR5 (256Bit)
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
Case: Pc case without PSU Cooler Master N300, Midi tower
PSU Cooler: Master ATX B500, 500W, 12cm ventilator.

Solution
use pcpartpicker.com to make lists

Your build is dated . The equivalent current processor is the i5 4690K
Use a motherboard with a Z97 chipset . The B series board you have is really for small business users and cant overclock the processor , yet you are paying more for a K sku processor that can overclock

The hard drive is not optimal for desk tops . Use a seagate barracuda , WD blue , or WD black

Coolermaster make some of the worst power supplies . Some are not even worth using as door stops . They do make good models too though .
Use only 80+ bronze or better

It looks like it should be compatible, although the PSU is a little low for that build. Also you would usually pair the 3570k with a Z77 motherboard.

What is your specific problem? Are you getting any beeps, lights, fans spinning, POST?

Ok so I changed:
hdd to a seagate barracuda
the board i changed to is a Z97M ANNIVERSARY ASROCK
the cpu to a i5-4690K
and the cooler to a master 80 plus, which is a 12cm fan. I'm pretty sure it will fit in the case.

And I thought I'll change the video card to a ASUS Radeon R9 290

Anything else I should change/check? Thanks in advance.
