How can i delete previous windows patition?

I dual-booted Win 7 with Windows 8 ( First had Win 7 and then Win8) and now it won't let me format the Win7 partition which i don't need anymore. It gives me this error: "Windows cannot format the system partition on this disk" . Any help?

The easiest way around is to boot into Windows 8 and download this software .
http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/

Its very easy to use. Use it to format the Windows 7 drive from within Windows 8 . And then you can probably merge the Windows 7 and Windows 8 drive if you need. You get all the freedom .
