i used my laptop a little for gaming but backed down recently over recent months but after recently, it decided that it didn't want to do as asked.

I was in my laptop, then heard a loud beep and my mouse and keyboard stopped working so had to use externals. That didn't bother me as I felt I was able to fix it. I did but after it wouldn't turn on. Luckily I managed to make it turn on by taking out the battery and power supply (although did also take out the hard drive....). It happened a little Moore than was fine for a few days but now nothing seems to work in turning it on.

When I press the power button, the fans spin up but nothing happens to the screen, they then slow down to very idle speeds (it might just be the CPU fan spinning very slowly) and the light for caps lock flashes.

I had already asked at a shop, and what he said does seem to make some sense to me, however, I'd Leicester to ask what others think before considering anything.

Looks like a hardware failure problem. If your laptop is still under warranty, send it for repair or replacement.

That's what the guy at the shop said. It's unfortunately not still under warranty. Do you know what the hardware issue would be. He said it could be worth fixing but it might be more beneficial to get a new laptop...

The thing is that most of the hardware in your laptop is attached to/part of the mainboard, which can only be properly repaired or replaced by your laptop manufacturer. Which is why in most cases of laptop hardware failure, buying a whole new device is the only option if its not under warranty.

This can happen for lots of reasons.

1. Hard drive failure
2. Power supply failure
3. Battery failure
4. Virus in os

Thats all I can think of now. Let me know if it is any of these.
