Hey guys, so I have a ALIENWARE 17 with a Intel i7-4710mq with 2.5GHz and can be overclocked to 3.5GHz. I never overclocked anything in my life, but how can i overclock this CPU without harming the laptop, and keeping it stable. And i need to know what are the side effects of overclocking (disadvantages).
Thanks :p

2.5 to 3.5Ghz is not OCing, that's Intel's Turbo boost which happens automatically when needs be. You don't need to do anything, when you run CPU intensive apps like games or rendering, etc, the clock automatically increases, this feature helps in saving power and increasing efficiency.
