Hi! I'm looking to purchase a single gtx980 along with a benQ 27inch 1440p display . The question is will the card and the display handle the upcoming dragon age, witcher 3 and batman well at that resolution? And if anything can I always down sample to 1080p when required? I just want to be able to run those games good without lag. I'm not a hardcore gamer as long as they give 50fps + that's fine I guess . P

It should be enough. The 980 is weaker than the 780 Ti at 1080p but as the p rises, the 980 gets better and has less framerate variance.

Expect about 40-45 FPS at 1440p. Maybe alot higher depending on advanced detail level like turning off a single feature. Or go 2xMSAA instead of 4xMSAA.

It'll run UHD@High detail and never drop below 33-34 FPS in some games like BF4 and Dirt with 2xMSAA.

Unless you want 1440p with ALL BELLS AND WHISTLES ALL THE TIME, then your'e fine with a single 980.
