Increase FPS Pc games

I have a good pc and some games are laggy and i dont't know why??

Specs:
Intel Core i7 2700K @ 3.50GHz
32,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
MEDION MS-7667
x2 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 (ASUStek Computer Inc)
SLI Enabled

What games are lagging? what gfx setting do you have it at? Are you sure that you don't have a high ping?

update drivers (make sure the previous ones are uninstalled), clean computer, close down programs that are running in the background (task manager > Processes)
