hey, I have MSI H55M-E33 motherboard.. currently i have 2x 2Gb ram, and i have bought a Kingston 2x 8Gb CL 10 ram, my i dont get past the "CPU or Memory changed" phase... it tells me to either run a setup, load the last setting or set defult settings.. but what ever i do... it just dont do anything..

Solution

Did you buy a 16GB kit (2 x 8GB modules)? That motherboard supports 16GB total (4 x 4GB).

where did you see that?

http://ca.msi.com/product/mb/H55ME33.html#hero-specification 4 DIMM slots and max memory 16GB implies 4GB per slot; otherwise max memory would be 32GB. Another way is to check what size modules are available for that motherboard at sites like http://www.datamemorysystems.com/dms-memory/msi/h55m-e33.htm or http://www.memoryx.com/h55me33d31066.html

You could also check the specs where the supported memory configurations is provided: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/440698/Intel-Dh55tc.html?page=15 A compatible 4GB module has to be double-sided (16 IC's ); 4GB single-sided (8 IC's) modules won't work.
