*Sorry for bad grammar.English is not my native language*
Hi From the first day that I built my PC I have this problem.
When I play games with V-sync OFF my computer does 1 second beep noise. after some seconds it will do the same noise again unless I close the game. It does that when the game becomes really demanding ( a lot of smoke/grass/explosions and all that ) 1 second beep....
I thought that it was the CPU's problem because I have an I5 4690K 3.5Ghz with the stock Intel air cooler and the temperatures could hit 60-70 in a few minutes and sometimes even 80°C
So I asked in the forum for a good cooler. But today I checked my temps after my pc did the same beep noise while I was playing Skyrim with some ENBS and graphic mods installed.
My CPU was around 60 , motherboard was 60 and GPU was 85°C ( R9 290 these temps are completely safe and normal ).
So I asked my self. What is the problem? Does my CPU temperatures affect the motherboard too?
Is it motherboard's fault?
In my opinion it is just the CPU temps that affect the motherboard's temps because... come on the CPU is the closest thing and hottest on the motherboard, what else could make it reach 60°C ?!
Please help.
PC specs:
R9 290 5GB
I5 4690K 3.5Ghz
MSI Z97 GAMING 3
Corsair CX750 Watt

Solution
I got MSI Z97 Gaming 7 and Intel Core i5 4570 on it. The motherboard has never ver go over 45C on tropical area. My room temps are aroud 70-90C.
I played for 8 hours straight and never heard nothing beep.

Maybe you got your BIOS configured to BEEP when some temperature is reached, and don't have nothing bad. I was having this issue on a Asrock B85 Pro4.

My motherboard/PCH reaches up to 55c when gaming (Asrock Z97 Extreme4) and I've been told it's normal. What kind of cooler does your R9 290 have? It could be dumping hot air in to your case and also blowing hot air on to chipset heatsink (seeing as the graphics card goes over it). Does your case have good airflow?

It is a PowerColor PCS+ R9 290 4GB card
And yes my case airflow is kind of terrible. 1 fan at front pushes fresh air in the case. 1 exhaust fan behind and on the top 1 fan that also just pushes air inside cable management is shit too. I will fix this tomorrow and see if temperatures become better.

I think the fan on the top should also be an exhaust. I used to have the PowerColor R9 290 PCS+ but the fans were stuck at 30% speed all the time and never budged. It used to overheat so I returned it. It also uses the kind of cooler that dumps all the heat inside the case instead of blowing it out the back, which is ok if you have a few case fans. It will definitely warm up your motherboard. Run a game or benchmark for a little while and put your hand near the graphics card.. you will feel the heat being blown from the top of the card in to the case. Hot air is also being blown out from the bottom of the card directly on to the motherboard and the motherboards heatsink (which is unfortunately below your graphics card).

see firstly you have must have kept your computer in high performance mode so go to power options and select the balanced mode this will reduce the temperature your processor has the turbo boost technology so it will automatically go to that speed required when needed keeping it on the full time will ruin you cpu in some time

secondly your motherboard may be getting hot because of an unwanted software that u have installed im sure that your game is a cracked version and not the original one some code iv noticed makes your sensor give wrong readings

your cpu should be between 38 - 42 c when at .799ghz frequency and under load not more than 60

see if your heat sink is fitted properly

And where did you get that info from???

I can understand having the PC running without any power saving features could make the temps rise a bit (such as the CPU running full speed all the time), but how can running cracked/pirated games or having unwanted software installed cause a PC to run hotter than usual? I wouldn't say it's a common assumption. I wouldn't even assume the OP is running cracked/pirated software either.

I would agree with that statement too. I don't think he even knows what he's saying.

ok cool i will prove it to you that a software can doom your computer download this software called 3d mark 6 from filehippo.com run it it will rate your pcs 3d performance also download this software called speccy which shows the temperature of your cpu run mark 6 and see your temp before and after your temp never comes down see the temperature and then tell me what u see

You mean 3DMark 06? It's a bit outdated. The temps will rise when using it as it's a benchmarking utility... It won't stress today's hardware though and all temps do drop back down to normal after running it (there are plenty of temp readers besides Speccy). 3DMark06 won't doom anything unless you're trying to run it on a 486. lol.

Tried it and it didn't stress my system at all. Even the temps stayed pretty low for the CPU & GPU (as expected). I was more surprised by the fact that it worked perfectly with Windows 8.1

For your spec list
I think you get a good high-end gaming pc

as we know, AMD GPU always get higher Temp while gaming
so for the 85°C for the R9 290, will not a big problem at all

btw, which case you using?
maybe clean the dust in the case first? and also re-install your cpu-cooler to see if this will be help

and, did you also overclocking your cpu while gaming?

I will probably get a H75 or some other air cooler and fix my CPU temps and then put some more fans in the case for better airflow
gtw the case is a Corsair Carbide Spec 0-1

thanks for the answers!
