GTX 980 vs GTX 970

Going for a single monitor HD, with an I7 (don't even attempt to moan about it). Might get an extra monitor in the future. Will only be gaming on this system (or at least, that's the only task planned for it, so not sure if anything will be added to the task list).

Not sure which card to go for, the price of the 970 is amazing but the performance of the 980 is better. I do have the money to spend on it and the money I would save with the 970 wouldn't be going on the computer as the build so far is good enough for me, so is the extra price for the 980 worth it? Please provide answers.

if you are playing at 1080p, the 970 is more than enough

the 980 is only 20-25 percent better than the 970. I would get the 970.

If you want bragging rights go for the GTX 980, if i had money to blow i would surely go for the 980.
