My new graphics card won't display

I just bought an AMD R9 270x to replace my HD Radeon 7770. I uninstalled my 7770 drivers, turned the PC off, opened the case, removed the old card, replaced it with the new R9 270x, made sure it was plugged into the power supply and firmly in the PCIE slot. Plugged an HDMI cable into the cards port and into the back of my monitor (I used an HDMI card with my 7770 card as well) but nothing ever displays. I've tried multiple monitors/TVs but nothing ever displays.

Most forums I read about this issue said I need to install the new drivers for the new card ASAP, but how can I do that when I can't even see anything on the screen? The fan on the graphics card starts every time I power on the machine so it's not a power problem, right? I've had to go revert back to my 7770 and that's still working perfectly.

Anyone have any advice for me?

I have the exact same issue (except i'm going from a 5770 to a 570Ti where the 5770 works...) and am going to try and reset the CMOS by removing the battery when I get home.
Then if that doesn't work I'm going to see if I can get a signal with the onboard graphics card from the mobo when I plug in the 570Ti. If I can I'll then use that to see if device manager in windows detects anything. If it turns out my mobo isn't switching to onboard graphics then I guess it could mean a faulty 570Ti or R9 270x in your case.

Yeah, I'm gonna try resetting the CMOS as well once I'm home from work. I tried switching it to the on board graphics but had no luck. Fingers crossed for us both!

I realised as well that my mobo doesn't have an onboard GPU which pretty much means if the CMOS reset doesn't fix it for me, it must mean a faulty graphic card that I've received. Meaning I have to take it back etc :/
But yeah, best of luck to both of us. Keep me updated with what happens!
