Hey friends,

I have been having this issue for a long time (around a month) it started around the time I built my new pc, I can't put my finger on it.

I have tried changing the channels (1,6,11), turning off the firewall but neither done anything. I am with Virgin media. I also pinged my ip and google on the cmd using -t however the ping randomly spikes to around 350ms. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
It could be as simple as you are too far away to get enough signal. You want to be sure your antenna is facing the router as much as possible. There is not a lot you can do if you not get clean wireless signals.
Does it do the same thing when you are on a wired connection. This is a pretty standard issue on wireless it is massively overcrowded and you get lots of random interference. This is why it never recommended to play games on wireless. Wireless works fine if you are far away from everyone else and you have good control of all the wireless equipment in your house. Used to be you looked for wireless networks and you were lucky to even see any but your own not you see pages and pages of network if you live in a area with lots of people living close by.

Hi Bill and thanks for the reply.

Thing is, I live with some other students and while playing online games they don't seem to be having as much lag as I do while playing games, so do you think this is an issue with my wireless adapter? I am not entirely sure it's because I am far away..
