4790K is LGA 1150 Chipset, Rampage Extreme is 2011 chipset, no the are not compatible

i7 4820K at a slightly lower price would be compatible with that board,
Xeon E5-2620-V2 is a 6core for a few dozen bucks more

Assuming the 4790K price range, i7 5820K is a nice 6core
CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor

Yes all other parts will be compatible, not sure about the RAM though, they must be DDR4 (assuming your previous RAM kit from an older build are DDR3)

yea it seems the rampage V only supports ddr4, man this will be expensive!

what other mobos can you recommend out there for intel thats future proof and really good?

What is your budget and which parts do you need?

In terms of processor, i7 4790K is future proof enough, 5820K is extreme overkill for a gamer, for which an i5 is recommended 99% of the time. I built my 4790K a month ago for performance in the video editing uses, not gaming alone, x99 would have been even more overkill than i'd want to pay for and sacrifice performance of other parts to keep in budget lol... don't know what your use for the system will be?
