Is this a good $450 dollar budget pc?

NO... No PC build under $500 will ever do for those titles THAT performance. The 'cost' for the video card, then the PSU to properly power THAT video card, PLUS the CPU capable to match that PSU all are much higher. You have to remember a PC is built to perform ANY function you ask it to, while a Console is SOLELY and ONLY made and CODED ONLY to play games. So they use 'tweaks' and 'tricks' to improve the performance, capability, etc. that is EXCLUSIVE only to console hardware. Plus numerous GREAT titles, very sadly, are...

Depends what your gaming, depends what your doing to set the graphics level to, depends on what you expect in performance responsiveness.

If your 'meter' is 'what I saw on Youtube' of say WatchDogs, BF4, etc. then absolutely poor performance/waste of money on PC side.
That 'meter' is normally 1920x1080 (1080p), 60FPS+, HIGH+ Graphics, which is normally a system for 'those titles' at LEAST $1200 due to the cost of the video card, PSU and CPu you need to crank that power.

The 'cheap' alternative would be to go console instead (everyone usually does when they only got your low budget) like a PS4 which CAN do that 'meter' on many titles (Assassin's Creed: Unity for example). What your 'wasting' your money on PC side (you have to pay to play) would be LOW graphics settings (crappy looking), 720P (1366x768) or lower display (less of the 'screen' you see) just to get 30Fps or so if not less (depending on titles).

Simpliest ANSWER: Look up the games you want to play with the word BENCHMARK then include CPU or GPU (like Assassin's Creed Unity CPU Benchmark) then average out the two numbers and that will be about what you expect at those resolution / graphics settings.

NO you can't use a AMD PROCESSOR on THAT build, you have to change the Mobo as well, which changes the cost, AND the memory timing might be different, so again that would require reevaluating the memory and you may pay more / less for the same memory but that matching the timing of a AMD board / CPU.

For that price, AMD is only doing the APUs which are low cost, low power, low DEMAND processors and a locked technology. AMD gamers are ONLY able to use a FX-8xxx series for gaming modern games, as the FX-6xxx is maxed out and FX-4xxx was obliterated by games 3 years ago. Which ups the price way above your limit (again PC based gaming is expensive, hence why people at your price range go PS4)

@LukaBoki Actually that price for a PS4 plays better then that build because of the bonuses a Console has over a PC, and plays according to the "I seen it on Youtube" standard as I outlined. Need me to link you to the independent testing showing the many titles playing "at PC settings" ?? It is unexpected, but true.

I would stick with the original AMD athlon 860K . Its 4 threads mean you are going to get better performance in online gaming particularly . And its fully unlocked and must have a ton of OC headroom since its not even clocked as high as the 7850K which has to handle the heat of graphics cores as well .

Definitely stick with the corsair psu , but try and stretch to the 750ti graphics card IMO

thx

You are assuming the graphic details are the same between a console and a PC . They are not . The pc game will have options to play at much higher detail settings .
It will vary game by game but the consoles I have seen tend towards the low end of pc gaming .

I want to aplogize for the late answer.
@Tom I am looking at your answer saying that PS4 is better than my build. Actually,it may be different. PS4 can only game at 900p it is not upgradeable, you have to buy games that cost $50 each. I agree there are some advantages of the PS4,like playing with friends and other, byt I think that a PC is a better option. Simply because my build can easily play demanding games medium at 1080p,it is upgradeable and you can download pirate bay games on buy them on steam.
@Outlander Your answer that he should stick with the 860K isn't entirely true. The G3258 is cheaper,it's a great overclocker,it allows for upgrades in the future to an i5 or an i7,which is a massive upgrade. And when overclocked,it really gives some amazing performance(matches and i5 4690K at stock if I am right)
Sorry for any typos if there are any because I am typing on my phone.

The pentium overclocked to 4.5 Ghz or so will match a Haswell i3 operating at around 3.4 Ghz

In multithreaded games its going to perform worse than the Athlon . In online play the extra cores will count .
The Athlon has an upgrade path , and its a great overclocker

Not many reviews of the 860K yet , but even if you do not understand Chinese the pictures tell a story of their own .
