Just plug the monitor in a port of the 7770 instead of the mobo.

once you have a dedicated gpu installed it should already use that by default. no need to switch anything

I could never use the dedicated card so I did try to install the 7770 drivers then boot up on the 7770 but it still didn't do anything.

well, you should be getting signal from the 7770, that has a pcie power connector on there correct? i think its a single 6 pin, is that plugged in all the way?

I would remove the card and reseat it making sure it is in the first pcie slot on the mobo, some mobos dont like a single card installed in a different slot, then enter the bios, most likely the delete key on boot and look in there for an option to select the pcie over the on die gpu on boot, by default that should already be enabled

Well the biggest problem is it is listed as R7 200 seers graphics in gpu-z and Manage (on my Moms computer and my living room computer) so I don't believe I will get anywhere until that is fixed.
