I just finished my first PC build( PC- Part Pickers recent 970 $ build ) and on boot up everything seemed to work fine but the Monitor ( connected with vga cable ) didn't get a signal. I have gone through this cites related sticky and any other possible solutions but haven't found a fix. any ideas?

the psu only have one 6 pins pci-e power cable and the gpu need a 6 and 8 pins one also they suggest a 750 watts psu for it even if you plug in the board nad the gpu is in the pci-e slot on the mobo it wont work remove gpu first for test .

Saw the concern about wattage in the discussion about the build, general consensus was it would be a problem if i wanted to add more but should be fine at present. Both the 6 and 8 pin connector are in being on the same wire . still going to try with out the GPU,
