Hello Community,

My laptop, Dell XPS 13 (L321X), stopped charging its battery about a month ago. I have been frantically running every diagnostic I can get my hands on to figure out what exactly the problem is because I find the symptoms to be confusing.... Allow me to give my findings so far:

First thing I tried was removing the battery and power adapter and holding the IO button for about 30+ seconds, this was recommended by a dell forum suggesting power cycling would do the trick. This did not work at first, but then a week or so later I noticed my battery charged to 80%. After that it never charged again.
When I turn computer on, the beep code is 2 short beeps, according to dell this means "Memory Failure"
My front LED blinks orange 4 times, i have not figured out what this means yet.
My adapter has a solid green light, suggesting that it is not the problem (right?).
My BIOS says the battery is working and healthy (BIOS version A04 -- latest version is A08 but I cant update because it requires 10% battery power).
After running Dell's "PC checkup" it gave me the error "battery failed wbt02-zjd"
Dell's Battery health checker in Windows says battery is not identified

I suppose all of these things point to a bad battery, but I am hesitant to spend the money if something else is wrong... its just strange that my BIOS doesn't recognize the battery issue.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Alan
