I have an ocz vertex 2 boot ssd and a WD storage hdd. This setup worked fine on my old computer. My new computer can only detect one drive at a time. If both are connected only the WD drive shows. I can boot from the ssd if it's the only drive. I tried on a different computer and sometimes both drives are detected in bios but I can only choose the WD in the boot menu. Both computers use MSI mobos and are at latest FW. Both have corsair 600W psu's. Tried different data ports. Some detects both, some don't.

You need to set the HDD boot order in the BIOS. And there's no reason that only one drive at a time would be detected.

One of the drives is not detected by bios if both are in.

Make sure all of the ports are enabled in the BIOS.

Hi there Randomcsgo,

I would agree with knight_of_baawa and also suggest you to check out your ports in the BIOS. You BIOS is up to date right? It is strange that the exact same problem happens with two different PCs. I will be a good idea to connect it to a PC with a different mobo(if possible).

Cheers,
