So I am using a10-6800K with the Asrock FM2A88M-HD+.
I have the 2133 ram installed (G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)

It seems like whenever I change the memory setting in bios to 2133, it seems like computer becomes unstable and shuts down. I dont remember but it was set to 1600 or 1833 so I just changed the number in the setting to 2133 because there was an option. It also shuts down on 1866 time to time but not as much as 2133.

The CPU seems to overheat which causes the shutdown when I look at HWmonitor. When gaming it goes up to 100 degree Celsius. Could the overheat issues be due to the ram?

Do I have to do anything else to make this ram stable with this motherboard?

When I first purchased this motherboard, it said it supported up to 2133 mhz but now according to the site, it says that it only supports up to 1866. I saw on some forum that Asrock made an error/mistake when they first released this product.

Do I have to overclock this memory to 2133mhz even though it is already a 2133mhz ram? or do I have to downgrade this ram to 1866mhz in the bios?

I need some advice on this issue. I have no idea on how to overclock this memory using the bios if it is needed. I am really confused on this shutting down issue. I do not know if it is due to the wrong settings of the memory on the bios or if it is due to the overheating.

Solution
yes, using it as 1866MHz would be my preference from the start, it has the best speed/CL ratio.

I doubt you'll even notice a difference from the two speeds.

I do not know anything about overclocking cpu or memory so I am scared and clueless to do it.
Would it be okay to use this 2133mhz as a 1866mhz ram? Will there be a noticeable downgrade?
