Im asking mainly because im buying an SSD and i want to install my system to it and nothing else at all. I know that windows 7 tends to grow a bit but i always reinstall my OS's once a year, force of habit. I wouldn't want to buy too big one and be left with empty useless space.
Thanks in advance

it would be pushing it.
i have an old 80gb, although granted that i also put 1 or 2 games in it. if it's solely for os, get a 60.
now i have my 2nd ssd so so it's not an issue anymore

A 30GB is far too small
A 64GB is right on the edge of usable
A 120GB will work

An SSD for only the OS is missing out on the overall benefit of an SSD.
OS and applications.

it makes things snappy, so it pays to use it ALSO for your most use applications/games. you don't have to go with the fastest (most expansive) ssd's.
my old sata2 ssd is way faster than conventional hdd, and it (intel) wasn't even the fastest sata2 back then (it was more reliable)
