My internet is horribly slow. WHY!?!

Our internet is supposed to be 30mbps, but I am sure it isn't. After running a few speed tests, our internet is 0.09mbps. And an upload speed of 0.12mbps, and a ping of 484. Why is my internet running so slowly?

It has taken me like 3 days to install TF2, and it has been super annoying. What do you think the problem is? And how do you fix it?

First I'd contact your isp and make sure you are getting what you paid for. Second, I'd make sure the modem is up to spec for what you are paying for. Third I'd check the router and cables. This all checked then make sure your software is up to date. If you are using a weak modem and router with non cat5e cables then you are obviously not allowing the flow to occur properly even if you have a 30mbs package.

For example:
I have a 30mbs isp package and get 32mbs. I have the following:
Modem: Motorola Surfboard SB6141
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825390001&cm_re=modem-_-25-390-001-_-Product

Router: Asus RT-AC66U...

Prior to upgrading my modem I had the strong router in place but was getting only 18mbs so as you can see, each component matters and my cell phone only gets currently about 20mbs but my ethernet connected gaming rig which is very strong gets the full 32mbs. Hopefully this helps!
