I dropped my computer and apparently the mother board was damaged as when turned on nothing happened, black screen and no reboot. I recovered the hard drive and installed it into a shell external hard drive. I need to transfer files to a new computer and would love to see my desktop as it was. How can I accomplish this task?

If there is already an OS installed on the new PC you just plug in the external drive, find the files you want from it, then copy/paste them to the hard drive on your new PC.
