Solution

you will need space for games and applications. a full window installation with updates takes about 25GB. modern games can take up as much as 20GB. space will go fast. and that A data drive is just not a good performer. it just doesn't make sense to have such a fast computer than have to run apps from one of the slowest hard drives in currently in production.

Have you got more storage already or will 128GB be enough for you? It totally depends what you're doing as to whether an i7 will have any benefit to you. X99 motherboards are for the i7 Extreme/Enthusiast 2011 socket processors.

you will not notice ANY gains from going to i7 with just one GPU. if you wanted to do 3 way SLI, that's a different story.

if you really want to upgrade something, i would upgrade the SSD or the case.

go for the Crucial MX100: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148820
you can get it for like $100 (use promo code visacheckout at newegg to get 10% off). it runs circles around that A data drive and has twice the capacity. trust me, 128GB will run out quick.

a much better case choice would be the NZXT H440.

I have been a loyal EVGA user for years and owned at least 10 of their GPUs. but I can not recommend their motherboards. they have many unresolved issues with the last 2 generations of boards.

the other brands are pretty good. the day X99 was released (august 30th i think) I got a gigabyte X99 G1 gaming motherboard but had all kinds of issues with it. i couldn't go a whole day without a blue screen even with no tweaking or overclocking. i tried getting it replaced but the issues were still there. and both boards had REALLY loud coil whine. i know coil whine is common but this was really bad. ever go to a rock concert or a night club and spend too much time close to the speakers and your ears start ringing really bad? that's what it was like. i ended up returning it and getting an Asus X99 Deluxe. while it isn't perfect, it is extremely stable and I can't hear a peep from it. i haven't turned off my computer in a week and even with the 25% overclock i'm running i haven't had a single crash.

but since you don't plan on doing anything crazy with the board, you should step down to the Asus X99-A. it is just like the X99 deluxe but has some unnecessary features stripped. it still has a lot of headroom for expansion and tons upon tons of features. Asus tech support and warranty are heads and shoulders above asrock, gigabyte and MSI. this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132261

for memory the best value right now are G.Skill sets: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231800

if you do buy from newegg use promo code "VISACHECKOUT", use VISA checkout and buy just 1 item per order. this way you get $20 off each part.

CPU :Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W Desktop Processor BX80648I75820K
Memory : SAMSUNG 16GB PC4-2133R DDR4 REG-ECC DIMM M393A2G40BB0-CQB
Storage : Adata XPG SX900 256GB SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5 inch Solid State Drive (SSD)

that XFX 850 watt PSU can comfortably run at least three GTX 970 cards overclocked up the wazhoo.

take a look at my signature to see my system specs. i have 2x GTX 970 and a 5930k overlocked like crazy. never pulled more than 500 watts from the wall. i have the best 1000 watt PSU ever made and it is totally wasted on my build because it wont use enough power. lol

the asus X99-A board is the best option hands down.

as for graphic cards, out of those options the gigabyte gtx 970 is better. but if you can, get the asus GTX 970 STRIX. keep in mind that you will have to overclock the GTX 970. it is capable of far better clocks than what you get from the factory without even volt modding.

Also, I still confused this. motherboard that I'm going to use is support DDR4, but GTX 970 GDDR5 and 32GB RAM DDR3. Do the motherboard will run with those are not DDR4 or GDDR4?
