Hi

My motherboard was not working well and Windows told me that I had to update the chipset driver Intel Smart Connect.

I downloaded from the ASRock website (my motherboard is an ASRock Z77 Pro3) the driver Intel Smart Connect for my OS (Windows 8.1 64bit) and after I extract the package from the .zip I get the following:

-Compliancy Kit
-Driver
-Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology 4.2 x64
-Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology 4.2 x86
-mup
-Setup

Setup is an application, and when I double click on it a black window opens and closes really fast on the top left of the screen and then nothing happens.

How can I install this driver?

For 64-bit Windows, double-click the file Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology 4.2 x64.msi

Thanks a lot! I believe it is installed now. However I am still having problems with my motherboard (system does not turn off, the case power led that should be on is also off and the system after some time in sleep mode does not wake up).

I double clicked on Compliancy Kit -> Tools -> iSCT Checker and passed all the tests except GPWR and GPCS (Failed) and GWWS/SWWS (Not Tested), this is the info that I got about the fails:

***Checking Get Platform Component Status (GPCS)***
FAIL: Get Platform Component Status (GPCS) Not Implemented

***Checking Get Platform Wake Reason (GPWR)***
Query Service Status failed, error code = 1053

Restoring Registry Settings
Service started successfully...
FAIL: GPWR return value required to be 0x2 for Periodic Wake Timer

***End Check for ISCT Presence and ACPI Interface Implementation***
FAIL: Compliancy Check, Refer to Intel(r) Smart Connect Technology Platform Design Specification for correct implementation of failed tests

How can I solve this?
