Hi
I have windows xp installed on 40 GB HDD.The Partitions are as Below:
c:14.6gb
d:26.2gb

The problem is last week my c: drive got full
so i deleted some files from the drive almost 2GB(shift+del)
so i got free space but after some time again it shows low disk space again.
again i deleted some files but again the same thing happens..
So i run a Chkdsk to check whether it is a file system error but still it is not happening
When i boot in safe mode it shows 2GB free space but when i restart and boot normally it shows only 35.5MB
Please Help

It could be your system restore points also. Run disk cleanup, click the "more options" tab, and click on the cleanup button under system restore. This will delete all but the last restore point. You can also change your system restore settings to configure it to use less disk space.

Try running Windirstat to check for large files/folders.
not a good idea to have 2 partitions on such a small drive today.
your o.s will typically take 12-15 gig you need at least another 10% to handle fragmentation
you also have to remember that your recycle bin will be active on both partitions so every time you delete something your drive fills up.
