Hey guys. I have XFX PRO 550W Core edition psu and Im planning to buy Sapphire R9 290x Tri-x. My question is, does my PSU produce enough power for this GPU to run?

After looking online @ PCCG/Austin/MSY the prices are better. I am referring to when MSY has their clearance of stock the R9 290X gets to around $399, GTX 970 @ ~$480 for good models.

I've been looking at the GTX970 and 290X. I've decided I'm going to get the 290X or wait for the next gen AMD cards. Nvidia at the moment is the best but I do not like what their doing with G-Sync and keeping it proprietary to Nvidia instead of being like AMD and supporting the free and open Free-Sync. I've also been avoiding Intel since they have been cheating with their bias Compiler and Processor ID String. Known as the "AMD Cripple" function.
