I am thinking of buying a sound bar. The issue I am having is that i have an AVR with 5.1. I would like to replace my center speaker with a new sound bar. I want to have all of the all of my HDMI cable running into my AVR, then my HDMI out from the AVR run to the sound bar and in turn have the HDMI out from the sound bar to the TV. Will this mess anything up if the HDMI is HDMI Arc? Appreciate any input you guys have.

I'm guess the HDMI connection from AVR to the sound bar will not support ARC, so you won't get sound coming back from your TV.

Okay, I have a cable box that would be connected to the AVR Via HDMI so i wouldn't need sound coming from the TV. I just want to make sure sound will emit from the sound bar as well as my AVR.

Probably not actually.
Thinking about it, the AVR will not pass audio through on the HDMI out by default. You could check the AVR setup to see if this can be enabled.
