I have bought a pc about 6 months ago and lately i have been getting blue screens ,freezes with black screen (when this occurs it takes me about 10 reboots to get it working again),i dont know is it because of the hardware or software including windows,it there any way i could determine what is the problem?
System:
PROCESOR: CPU Desktop Intel Core i5-4690 3.50GHz - Haswell ( četiri jezgre )
CPU cooler : Inte 1150 CERTIFIED CPU FAN & HEATSINK
motherboardA: Intel® B85 Chipset
memory: 8GB 1600MHz, PC6400
gpu : AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB DDR5, ( New Generation )
hdd: 1000GB SATA3(toshiba)
optical drive: DVD+-RW DL SATA black
sound card: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 5.1 AUDIO
case: Cooler Master gaming
psu : 600W

The crashes occur randomly they are not bound with triggering any application(but sometimes black screen/freeze happen on the loading screen of a online game souch as lol,dota...), just poof happen.

My money is on ram.. next time it happens try reseating all of your ram (with the power off) then turn it back on and see if you can get it to do it again by running a couple games.. even if it happens again.. if you can directly trigger it by running games then its like 80-90% chance its the ram or one of them dying

I should note that even if it is the ram dying slowly.. reseating them may cause the computer to work until the next time it is rebooted. So if this is a thing you have to do everytime the pc is powered off then yes its still the ram.

You are using the r9 290 with a uncertain PSU :O get a good quality 600+ watt PSU from seasonic , xfx at load the stock PSU in unable to handle the card and yet the PC is turning off.

ok here is the thing,i had these crashes (black screen/freeze) like 2 times already but this one really made me angry and about the full power off i have tried that one and still after restart there is the screen with the start windows normally option i press that and its like a wheel of fortune if im lucky it might start from the first time sometimes (like today) it takes about 5 times
+the pc is still under warranty but i would like to know for sure it is the hardware or the software that is making problems

yes i am well aware it is a amd xfx r9 290 and that it has to have a very good psu but i was ensured that this build was functional and runs without any problems even with a higher load note that this crash appears on the most stupid times sometimes it even happened when i was browsing with google chrome and it didnt happen when i was for an example playing a fully modded skyrim or crysis 3 on ultra so perhaps there is another problem .

Then i have opened the case and the psu is ultron real power eco silent 600w psu,and it seems it is a 80 plus bronze rated which disturbs me a little now.

I personally don't see this as a psu problem 80 bronze means that @ 80% load it can put out its full spectrum.. the MAX that pc is using is 400w on full load and if it was the psu it would trigger under full load and dump to a pc off state immediately.

that's my 2 cents on this psu argument. All that aside if it was a software issue like a flaw in the os boot up or something it would 1. never let you in 2. even if it did eventually let you in it would not crash from that specific point.

The only thing software related that could be bugging this bad is maybe the drivers for the gpu or something.. if those are all new or you recent reloaded them and etc etc then assume its hardware and send it back under warranty. Let them figure out exactly what it is.

worst case scenario is that you get it back and they say nothing was wrong. at that point id run some os tests and do repairs etc etc.

well damnit ,if i had just gotten it i wouldn't mind sending it back for checking/repairs but all my data is on this :( I will see what i can do and will contact the shop i bought it from (it is in another city about 400km away from me so technically that is the only problem),but could the problem perhaps be in the incorrectly installed windows perhaps because i used some bsod report viewers and most of the time it said that the problem was either something windows related or there was the amd i think kernel driver failure

those reports have never accurately diagnosed my memory failures in the past.. so from my experience.. its not going to be able to tell you.. that's based on personal experience with bsod

.. not exact.. if the crash test says something like.. error - bad memory kernel - attempting blah blah then that just confirms what we have already said. It could literally be any part of the memory tho so its really not that specific or helpful in that regard.

If it says the same thing but driver kernel its most likely the gpu or the gpu drivers/something directly associated with it.. there really is not much more you could do other than start taking stuff out and seeing if that was the problem or not.

like prit said it could even be the motherboard coming to the end of its life span so .. having a pc shop swap some bits in and out to determine it for you is the best bet if you dont have anything spare hanging around
