I am thinking about setting up a VPN server that I can use when in school, I am new to VPNs and I am unsure if I really can use it like I want.
The school network has restricted port access that makes me unable to use a proxy for Netflix and Crunchyroll, tricking the sites I am in USA and not Sweden makes me able to watch a lot of more stuff.

So what I am wondering is, can I make a VPN server that I connect to through port 80 that I know is open in the school network and have my computer at home connect to the correct port and that way go past the restrictions in the school network, and if not is there some other way I can go past the restrictions?

My favorite series on both Netflix and Crunchyroll is unavaible on the Swedish sites and I am using ProxyMate to watch them but my school network can't connect to the sites when it is active.

As I have understood it should be possible to use a VPN to connect through a open port in the network you are using to the VPN and make the VPN then connect to the correct ports that you need to access but I have had a hard time finding information on how you setup such a VPN, I can only find less advanced help for basic VPN usage.

Thanks for any help and if it does not work like I think I would love tips on any other ways to make it work, I really want to go past the restrictions (I have a lot of free time without lessons) and I don't see why it should not be possible in some way :)

If you need any more information or if you want me to explain better just ask me, I am a complete "noob" when it comes to this but I would love to learn how it works, I love to learn new things haha
