Hello. I have a HP probook 4525s. After 5-30 minutes or so of turning it on it stucks(windows 7 32bit ultimate edition). Restarts. Non system or disk error screen. Turn it off 10 minutes works like charm boots and all. Functions 5-30 minutes. Then same crash. Can you help me?
Most threads relate to hdd problems or boot order but this is none of it the hdd is working correctly on other devices.

it sounds like it could be your SATA controller. Try removing your battery for a few minutes (HP's and Battery's don't mix lol) if that didnt work see if you have achi enabled in the BIOS. If non of that works i think your SATA controller might be dead

Hi
Have you tried cleaning the vents on your laptop with compressed air and is your laptop fan working OK.
This problem could be a thermal one.

Temperature is fine to start with. The only times it rises is when I play a game but never too hot though. Plus the fact that I have a cooler. My suspicion is that it is a hardware problem.
especially the motherboard's southbridge.
This laptop workes well on battery and it still does. 2 and 1/2years and it lasts around 3-4 hours. SATA controller was the 1st thing I got checked. Along with bios and other frequent easy fixes for this.
