I purchased a new Asus K55VM-SX086D laptop yesterday. I am having a weird problem that my laptop shuts down instantly when I connect or disconnect the power cord to the laptop to the laptop itself.
The loss of power is instant. No time delay.

It happens even when I am in the BIOS, and even in Safe Mode. I use Windows & Ultimate, but I am also able to reproduce the error using Ubuntu as a live OS.

The battery is new and has shows proper backup as required. (3 hours).
On the site it says that the laptop should have a power rating of 90 W, 4.74 A. However, the charger that came with the laptop has a rating of 19V, 6.32 A. So it is the dealer's fault? Has he given me a wrong charger?
