So I was thinking about getting a second HIS IceQ 7870. But I have a couple concerns.

Now, I would need a new mobo that supports crossfire.
But the big question I have is if I have enough room in my case.

The case I have is an AZZA Armour case which I believe is a mid sized case.

Does it have room for 4 expansion slots? Look on the back and count. If it does, it is fine. However I kinda have to advise against getting a new motherboard for just crossfire. The R9 290 is twice as strong as your 7870 and it would cost the same or less than a new mobo + another 7870. (And be far more reliable).

That case will fit two cards. If it has the ability to support an ATX motherboard, it won't have an issue supporting two cards.

HD7870 will require 2 slots in the cabinet. Usually most of the mid tower cases can accommodate 2 GPU's (each 2 slots).

How much is the R9 290? And which brand would you recommend?

Go with Sapphire, so far the best in R9 series. The price depends on the brand you choose.

What motherboard do you currently have by the way?

The mobo I'm looking at is about 100$, and the 7870 is only about 180$

Still cheaper than a 400$ r9

1) The 290 is $300

2) The 290 will crush your 7870's and has double the video Ram. Yes it costs $20 more, but that $20 gets you A LOT more of everything and is WAY easier to swap.

Would a Corsair CX600 be enough?
I also read some of the reviews and some are saying it's a big card and requires a full sized tower. I'm curious to see how it compares in size to the 7870.

Your 7870 is huge! Almost 12" long, I know that your 7870 is slighter longer than a Gigabyte Windforce 3X R9 290 :p

I think I'm going to wait until Black Friday to decide what I do. The R9 series got a huge price cut due to Nvidia's new 900 series prices so maybe the prices will go even lower ;)

Or.. maybe I'll get lucky and be able to pick up a new motherboard & 7870 for cheap.
