worth getting a gpu?

Yes, your monitor is 1920x1080p monitor so it is worth it. And also you have to take in mind the game as well and the GTX 970 will max out games for you :) I also have to know what your current Rig is to make sure there won't be bottlenecks. You have to take in count your whole system to make sure there is nothing that will hinder the performance of the card.

Yes, GTX 970 is worth for ur 1080p monitors all games will be playable at high settings I would suggest getting Gigabyte GTX970 G1 is a awesome GPU in GTX 970 series better performance than Standard GTX 972 ASUS strix is also a Good opt.
