Hello. My laptop has integrated graphics and it is only capable of playing games at the lowest settings and even then, its not very well. I'm looking to add an external graphics card but I'm not too tech savvy. Could someone give me a walkthrough? I know a PE4L(?) board is needed along with a capable power supply for the eGPU.
Also, I'm unsure what direction to go in with the eGPU. I don't know enough to choose one that's capable but not overkill.
Thanks for any help!

The enclosure I can create and the power supply, depending on the wattage, I should have that too. Also I'm not really in the market for a PC build

I have an express card slot. And its a Toshiba Satellite a665-s6086. Id like to increase graphics capability so i can run games at a decent fps rate on moderate settings instead of skippy minimum requirements. Something like this I was hoping? http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1191969-external-gpu-for-laptops-supercharge-your-graphics/

Lol. Do you have any knowledge of GPUs? Im also confused on that front. The other half I might figure out after much research but a straightforward recommendation for my specific laptop will be hard I think. Any ideas?

It's going to be really technical and specific to your solution.

The bandwidth/data to the card is comparatively limited, so you should be looking at something mid range and lower power.

Check what GPUs they are using.

Thanks! Just looked it up and there seem to be a lot of variations. 1gb, 2gb, different manufacturers. Does it make a huge difference with which one I go with?
