gaming build, pros and cons, super nerd help?

Ok guys I used to be a computer power nerd, not anymore, i switched to engineering and CAD/CAM systems. need help with a latest and greatest yearly build. I usually rebuild one of my 3 systems every year, I need some power tech. nerd help.
In the minimal research I have done, Im trying to way the pros and cons of distributed $.
Obviously Intel vs AMD.
SIngle thread performance(Intel) vs (multithread performance(AMD for same price point)
How important is faster(more$) RAM
Video Cards How much $ too spend. Whats more inportant CPU, MB, Video CARD, RAM.
Video card? More memory, faster processing/band width (ie 256bit,384bit...)
lets put a number out there, say i have $1000 +/- a couple hundred, where do you spend it, need MB, CPU, RAM, Video.

SSD's are fast, there is no doubt about it, but getting a meaningful amount of storage out of them is ridiculously expensive. Modern games with all the DLC can reach up to 50GB per game.

For that same price that would cost a 1TB HDD and 120GB SSD I got a 2TB gamer hard drive that is faster than a normal HDD but not as fast as an SSD.

Its up to you, do you want storage or do you want speed?

Oh I see how this goes, you ask for help and you want to impose conditions on how we deliver it? How rude!

Mine is in the description below. Its designed to run 24/7, cool, but quiet when idle, a general all rounder good at everything but not exactly excellent at anything particular...

...except maybe to run a video card benchmark when watching porn to have the gfx fans drown out the moaning! :D

Then use GTX 770 4GB edition. I will cost more but you will have your precious PhysX.

Why not Xeon? What kind of hair brained cliche notion of "what it was meant for" could possibly justify not buying a CPU that has i7 performance at i5 cost?

Don't listen to fanboys, Intel should have them shot for treason, they wouldn't know what a good cpu is even if it came gift wrapped in a pink box with a picture of a bunny with a sledgehammer on it.

Im not sure what people mean by its not the same thing. its exactly the same thing.
From my research a i7 chip is a dumb down Xeon processor, I haven't looked at high end chip prices for 2 years now, but I build CAD machines for work and Xeon processors have always been more expensive than i7 processors, And the "for what its meant for", from research I did a couple years back, the benefits in a Xeon processor were not beneficial in a home/gaming PC, "What its meant for" is for servers. I have used them in CAD workstations in the past but the price vs benefits doesn't way out. Same principal I have seen with Nvidia, sure we have ran Quadro cards and they were expensive but the price vs performance wasn't there, and the same principal as the Intel, a Quadro card has its exact duplicate Geforce card, that has been dumbed down and has different drivers. From a marketing stand point makes perfect sense, why build 2 chips when you can design and build one, or why build/design 2 cards when you can just build one, make a couple changes and sell for 2 price points, make double the profits on one R&D and one production cost.

No I havent looked lately, Because all Intel processors are far more expensive than AMD, thats why I posted this trying to find out if the higher cost of a Intel, with its faster single thread processing, Is better to have for gaming than a cheaper 8 core AMD, I know the single thread processing of the AMD SUX, even at the equivelant price point. But what is more important now a days for new games, a faster single thread or multiple threads?
I know the crappy consoles are using AMD APU,s 8 core, but that could be just because its the cheapest thing they could use.

Yeah, I agree though why would you buy a i7, when you can buy a Xeon for the same price. That would be like buying a Gforce card even though the Quadro card was the same price.(I wish)
