It's a very weird issue. For 2-3 days now the router would randomly start working, the light on it flickers slowly, then after 30 seconds it turns back on.

I discovered that by doing the troubleshooting built into windows during these down times, it would resolve the issue much quicker. Then it gives me 1 of 2 different errors. Either Default Gateway is not avaiable, or "Local area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP config. Naturally it has a fixed status after that and the internet comes back.

I can confirm that it's the Belkin router screwing up, because once I try connecting directly to the modem, I have 0 issues. Anyone got a fix?

Try rebooting the router, changing out the cable that connects the router to the modem, and see if there is a firmware update.

In all likelihood the router is EOL and will need to be swapped out.
