I have a Netgear WN300RP extender that "extends" my UVerse wifi signal that is sent out via hard wired modem/router. At least daily, my phone will say that I am connected to the wifi extender signal, but I'm really not as web pages won't load, email in-boxes won't update, etc.

I am CONSTANTLY having to reboot it, which means unplugging, waiting 20 seconds, and then plugging back in.

I've tried factory reset, but it's not fixing the problem. Is it just a poor piece of hardware? I spent about $70 on it...seemed like a good product, middle of the road.

Please assist...thanks.

Does the store you bought it from accept returns? I would suggest that!

Also range extenders are not the panacea, everyone thinks they are.

The increased signal, more often than not is just more noise the PCs card can't get through.

Do you have a possible solution or are extenders just garbage? I'd be willing to spend the money for a decent extender, but not sure they are worth it. 99% of the extender's use is for phone browsing.

I skip the wireless all together.
It is only for guest in my house.
I always offer to let them plug it first though, it only polite.

And my WiFi works rather well, but no WiFi is dependable.
